December Meeting

The next club meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 2 at 3:30 PM at the Odell Recreation Center.

There will be two topics followed by Q&A.

  1. Website: Our webmaster, Terry Potter will cover aspects of our website and take your questions regarding the available features.
  2. Trip Planning: Members Harlan Thrailkill and Bill Hayes will discuss various aspects of planning those longer trips, and offer some tips & tricks to make it easier.

The meeting will conclude at 4:45 pm and then members can optionally meet up for dinner afterwards at Cane Garden Country Club.

We’ll be sending out an email announcement a few days before the meeting, but put it in your calendar now so you don’t miss it. And please RSVP below so we can plan meeting requirements accordingly.


COVID-19

The Villages Management requires the following announcement:

As a result of the pandemic COVID-19 and to make every effort to protect staff, you and your attendees; The Villages Community Development Districts are applying the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Federal, State, and Local Health Agency guidelines for managing public use of facilities. Information and requirements are subject to change. All attendees are responsible for their health and safety and understand that they utilize facilities at their own risk.
Requirements are the following:
● All attendees must be free from COVID-19 symptoms including
o No Fever (Temp over 100.3 F)
o Dry Cough
o Shortness of Breath
o Muscle Aches
o Sore Throat
o Chills
o Loss of Taste and Smell
o Vomiting / Diarrhea
● Mask will be required where and if social distancing may not be achieved when interacting with employees.
● Room capacities and setups are predetermined per the guidelines to achieve social distancing.
● Kitchen access and use will be limited until further notice.
● Regular Hand Washing with soap for 20 seconds.
● Comply with guidelines and directives as ordered or issued by all Federal, State, County and Local legislative and
health entities.
● Notify staff immediately if made aware of any person who may have been in a facility or come in contact with staff that has tested positive COVID-19 or begins to exhibit symptoms.
● Attendees will not be permitted to use or access facilities if they have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or been placed on quarantine for possible contact with COVID-19 until medically cleared.
● Attendees will not be permitted to use or access facilities if they have traveled in one of the CDC designated high-risk states or countries until they are medically cleared.
● Please note that setups may be limited to accommodate social distancing requirements until further notice.

  1. Elegant website, and a very useful tour of same at the December meeting.     For a future forum, perhaps another speaker could talk about optimizing batteries.

  2. Thanks for the kind words Geoffrey. It’s a confusing topic, with so many variables that interact, resulting in wide possibilities. It doesn’t help that information from Tesla staff is also sometimes ambiguous and contradictory! You may be interested in something I just posted about using superchargers on long trips.
