Have been using FSD since 1/1/26. Love it except for the usual complaints. Sometimes takes way less than optimum routes, tries to make a left turn across 4 lanes of traffic instead of going 1 more block to a traffic light, and sometimes making inappropriate and unnecessary lane changes in traffic circles. However ,today, while in a round-about, in the outside lane, it turned to the right and headed straight on towards a curb. I was able to hit the brake while manually turning in time to avoid colliding with the curb. I saved to video clips. Anyone have anything like that happen while in FSD? I saved the front camera clip, but it is too large to attach.
Yeah, I had something similar happen to me, too. Thought the car was going to hit the curb. I'm using FSD Ver 12 in a 2022 Model Y.
Driving yesterday in the rain the full self driving flashed red and told me to take over immediately. I did. It also gave instructions of how to clear the cameras but being a new owner it all happened too fast for me to figure out what I could have done to help keep it in self drive. Can any one tell me?
@adswaim I'm no expert (but my car is 4 YO, so I have some experience), but there's nothing you can do while driving. If rain comes on slowly, as it usually does, you may get a message that FSD may be compromised or reduced, or that a particular camera is blocked. But in such a heavy downpour with high winds, the cameras just can't see far from the car, so it gives control back to the driver. You can try putting some rain guard (like Rainex) on the front windshield in front of the cameras and on the side pillar cameras to try to reduce rain droplets blocking the cameras.

I had similar happen to me, with her heading straight toward a cub.. Thanks God I was paying attention and grabbed it. I've had two updates since and hopefully that little quirk has gone away.
With yesterdays update 14.6.7 and 14.3..3 I noticed the normal quirk of wanting to cross 4 lanes of traffic for a left hand turn vs a traffic light went away.
My wife and I bought a Model Y about 13 months ago and love it. I installed FSD 14.3.6 yesterday evening, July 27th, and early this afternoon, July 28th, we encountered a problem we have not seen before. I think it is related to the new release. We were driving westbound at 35mph on El Camino Real near the hospital. We were going around a bend in the road when suddenly an ambulance appeared from a street on our right. It was in the process of stopping at a stop sign to enter our road. The ambulance did not have any lights or siren turned on. We saw the ambulance in plenty of time to know that it was stopping, however, FSD decided it was a threat and slammed on the brakes very hard. If a vehicle had been behind us then more than likely it would have rear-ended our Tesla. I did not disengage FSD because it had slowed to only a couple of miles an hour very quickly and at that point it had figured out that the ambulance wasn't going to hit us and it wasn't going on a call. It was slowing down to stop. About 98% of our driving has been with FSD enabled. That has been the case since we bought the car. We have driven more than 12,600 miles. We have encountered some emergency vehicles in the past. Some of them had lights on and sirens blaring and others were traveling quietly with no lights or sirens. We have been impressed with the way that FSD handled those situations. Not this time. It will be interesting to find out if this is a one off or a new unwanted behavior. If it is a new behavior then everyone needs to be especially alert around emergency vehicles even if they don't appear to be on an emergency call with lights and sirens. FSD's response was very inappropriate.
My HW-3 Model Y updated to FSD Ver 14 Lite about a week ago. It's not as smooth as the latest Ver 12. It's hesitant when it doesn't need to be and lurches for no apparent reason. Have not driven it on highways yet.
I have the same problem with my 2023 HDW3 Model Y.
